Kevin Russell has a diverse work experience, beginning in 2011 as a Performance/Propulsion Engineer Contractor with Pratt & Whitney. In 2015, they co-founded Natilus as a Propulsion Engineer. In 2017, they founded Ottermatics Design & Engineering, a full service Mechanical, Electrical, and Software design services company that has produced award-winning designs in Consumer Health Products and other newsworthy projects. In 2018, Kevin became a Full Stack Engineer at SMArtX Advisory Solutions, where they developed a High-Performance Distributed System on AWS to deliver critical customer data with an uptime greater than 99.5%. Kevin also developed a portfolio optimizer & financial data service to provide ultra low latency delivery of customer-specific data. In the same year, they were a Product Designer at MONQ, where they strategized the concept then developed & patented the world’s smallest battery-powered mesh nebulizer with a cartridge. Kevin also developed an integrated circuit dual stage boost converter with efficiency greater than 90% to power a mesh nebulizer with a 212V signal off a single cell lithium-ion battery. In 2018, Kevin was also a Marine & Industrial Engineer at Weedoo Workboats, where they converted complete product (Hull, Engine Assembly, Frame, and Accessories) into 3D Model and captured existing & new product hull into a 3D model using surface lofting techniques. Kevin also performed hydrostatic analysis for determining maximum bucket loading with custom python code. In the same year, they were a founding member of LUVA Bar, a personalized subscription soap service startup, where they developed the website luva.bar on shopify. In 2020, Kevin became an Ocean Engineer & Economic Analysis at NEPTUNYA Ocean Power, where they created a renewable ocean energy simulator MIDAS that provided cost, power, survivability information to locate opportunities for marine energy globally. Kevin also developed an anchor integrated electrolyzer that cut costs of ocean energy by 21.5% and designed an electrolyzer testbed to study the unique operating conditions & approach of the HYDRA Anchoring Module. In the same year, they became an Embedded Systems Engineer at TurnAround Factor, where they developed an embedded linux system that delivered streaming video & tool data from automatically detected USB devices using WebRTC to a Microsoft Hololens to provide a connection from remote field workers to experts in an office.

Kevin Russell attended Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University from 2006 to 2010, earning a Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace Engineering in 2010 and a Master's Degree in Aerospace Engineering in 2009.
