Mike Benson

Mike Benson has over 20 years of professional experience in software engineering, consulting, and technology solutions. Mike'scareer began in 1987 as a Tanker in the US Army. In 1995, they worked as a Consultant for TSG International, where they implemented data conversion jobs between account systems. In 1997, they became a Senior Developer at SHJ, Inc. In 2000, they were promoted to Director of Development at Techfi. In 2002, they moved to Advent Software as Director of Development (Techfi). In 2004, they were recruited as Manager of Development (IAN) at SS&C Technologies, where they redirected development and modernized a legacy web-based portfolio accounting system. In 2006, they were Founding Partner at FinFolio, where they launched all aspects of overall technology vision, software product development, quality assurance, application architecture, and hosting infrastructure. In 2011, they were promoted to SVP, Content Engineering at Lionsgate, where they designed and developed a multi-platform analytics solution and exposed bottlenecks and materials issues. In 2022, they joined SMArtX Advisory Solutions as a Software Engineer, and Improving as a Senior Consultant - Cart.com and Senior Consultant - Cornerstone Home Lending. In this role, they were responsible for building out the application to an 80% code coverage over key areas, helped with patterns and practices to get the team up to speed, worked with the product team to prioritize features for enhancement, and built an application to parse existing code to correlate menus, controllers, services, and database access.

Mike Benson has an extensive educational background. In 2015-2016, they obtained a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) in Information Technology Management from Western Governors University. During the same period, they also completed an Executive Leadership Program at the University of Denver. Prior to that, they obtained a BS in Computer Science / Math from Colorado Technical University in 1998-2002. In 2021, they received two certifications from Amazon Web Services (AWS): AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner and AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate.
