Cindy Lora has extensive experience in program management and operations, currently serving as Vice President of Programs at SMASH since January 2020, where additional roles include Head of Operations, Site Director, and Site Manager for the FRS x UC Berkeley initiative. Prior to this, Cindy held the position of Program Coordinator at SMASH and worked as an Assistant Manager at Peet's Coffee. Earlier experience also includes serving as Head Residential Advisor at SMASH and Store Manager at GUESS?, Inc. Cindy's educational background includes an Associate's degree in English Language and Literature from San Joaquin Delta College and further studies at San Francisco State University.

SMASH provides an intensive and holistic computer science-focused education to dedicated students of color who seek equal access to college and career readiness resources. Our mission is to build a strong, diverse and socially conscious tech workforce by leveling the playing field through academic learning and experiential engagement for high school and college students. SMASH’s two leading programs are: - SMASH Residential, our flagship program, provides high school students across the nation with a tuition-free, residential educational experience for each of their three summers during high school. With programs at 5 campuses, SMASH Residential works to ensure that Scholars have the computer science knowledge and problem-solving skills needed to succeed in college and beyond. - SMASH Virtual is an online platform that provides students early exposure to CS/emerging technology topics and career professionals.
