Farah is digital archivist and database administrator in Brooklyn. A creative at heart, she studied writing and literature in school and had a brief stint performing stand-up comedy in Boston and NYC. She has a special love and knowledge of film because of her many years working for several independent cinemas in her hometown of Richmond, VA to becoming the Ticketing Database Manager for Film at Lincoln Center and the New York Film Festival. After realizing her technical aptitude and pursuing a Masters in Library Science, she co-created a community-driven digital archive of street art as a mobile app called Drips Gallery. Prior to coming to Smashcut, she worked as a technology professional helping develop, implement, and support SaaS products for non-profit arts organizations. As a first generation Muslim immigrant, Farah hopes to use her diverse set of skills to help make digital art more accessible so more different voices can be heard.
