Renee Solomon

EVP, Finance and Real Estate Development at SMASHotels

As Executive Vice President, Renee Solomon is responsible for all capital structuring, investor relations, asset management of on-going business operations, and new business development/acquisitions for SMASHotels. Ms. Solomon is an active leader in strategic planning and business development for SMASHotels. She brings over 25 years of experience in finance and real estate development, completing acquisitions, negotiating, and closing debt and equity financing transactions in excess of $500 million, and reviewing, approving or negotiating many of the material contracts related to SMASHotels’ real estate development and operations. Ms. Solomon is responsible for obtaining construction funding and permanent financing, along with re-financing and loan structures of maturing assets for SMASHotels.

Prior to joining SMASHotels, Ms. Solomon served as Executive Vice President of ECD Company. She was integrally involved in reviewing, approving or negotiating many of the significant contracts and capital leases related to ECD Company’s and its affiliates’ real estate assets. Over the past 20+ years, Ms. Solomon has developed strong relationships with local owners, brokers, and financial institutions and has been responsible for completing acquisitions, negotiating, and closing all debt and equity financing transactions. She is also responsible for all communication and financial reporting to equity investors and lenders.

Prior to ECD Company, Ms. Solomon spent several years in various investment banking and capital markets departments at PaineWebber’s New York office after completing her Master’s in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance at Columbia University. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Economics with a concentration in Finance from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, where she graduated with honors.
