Ammar Barbee

Ammar Barbee is an accomplished jazz pianist and mechanical engineering student at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, currently performing with various ensembles such as the 8th Street Jazz Orchestra, World Jazz Orchestra, and Collar City Combo. Barbee has held multiple roles including President of Student Chapter 141 at SME, where coordination of educational events regarding manufacturing in the Troy community occurs, and as a Mechanical Design Engineer at NSH USA Corporation focusing on machine tool assemblies. Additional experience includes founding Custom Carved Signs by Ammar Barbee, designing and delivering custom outdoor wood signs, and serving as a Manufacturing Engineering Intern at Tesla. Barbee's educational background includes a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering, set to graduate in 2025, and a high school diploma from The Bronx High School of Science.
