Dr. Martin Heese has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning over a decade. Dr. Martin currently holds the position of Vice President Digital & Operations at Smile Eyes since February 2023. Prior to this, they worked as a Trainer, Coach, and Lecturer at RWTH Aachen University, Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg, WWU Münster, SMEs, and consultancy, starting from 2016.
In 2018, they became the Owner & Managing Director of Münsterland-Camping Heitkamp GmbH & Co. KG. From 2021 to 2023, they served as the General Manager Marketplace at Machineseeker Group.
Dr. Martin also co-founded and served as the Managing Director of CardioConform GmbH from 2017 to 2020. Additionally, they held the role of the Head of Entrepreneurship Center at RWTH Innovation from 2015 to 2017.
Earlier in their career, Dr. Heese worked as a Management Consultant at Boston Consulting Group (BCG) from 2012 to 2017, as well as a Visiting Associate at BCG in 2011. Dr. Martin was an Intern in Restructuring at Struktur Management Partner GmbH in 2010 and an Intern in Performance Improvement at EY in 2009.
Dr. Martin Heese has an extensive education history. Dr. Martin earned their B.Sc. in Business Administration and Management, General from the University of Mannheim, where they studied from 2007 to 2010. As part of their undergraduate studies, they also participated in an exchange semester at QUT (Queensland University of Technology), focusing on Law, Finance, and Geology, in 2009.
After completing their undergraduate degree, Dr. Heese pursued a M.Sc. in Finance, Management, and Empirical Research Methods at the University of Mannheim, from 2010 to 2012. During their Master's program, they had the opportunity to broaden their knowledge through an exchange semester at Pepperdine Graziadio Business School, specializing in Entrepreneurship and Finance, in 2012.
Continuing their academic journey, Dr. Heese went on to RWTH Aachen University, where they obtained their Dr. rer. pol. degree from 2015 to 2018. Their doctoral research focused on psychological factors driving digital business models.
