Ronald Wakabi

Ronald Wakabi has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and companies. Ronald is currently serving as the Country Manager for Smile Identity since 2021, where they are responsible for managing operations and stakeholder engagements. Prior to this, they worked as a Consultant for Smile Identity from 2020 to 2021, where they focused on setting up operations and managing relationships with regulators, financial service providers, and fintechs. In collaboration with Izzy Services International Limited, Ronald also holds the position of Managing Director, delivering data processing KYC services in Uganda.

Before joining Smile Identity, Ronald served as the Country Manager and Director for JUMO.WORLD from 2016 to 2020. Ronald also gained experience in product management as the Manager of Products at Diamond Trust Bank from 2014 to 2016. Earlier in their career, Ronald held multiple roles at Orange Uganda, including Product/Project Manager for Orange Money, Marketing Executive for Orange Money, Quality Assurance Executive, and Sales Support Executive.

Ronald Wakabi attended Makerere University from 2002 to 2005, where they pursued a degree in Social Sciences with a specialization in Social Administration.
