Human Rights Leadership Specialist

Carrie Cuthbert has over two decades of experience in leadership and advocacy within the realms of human rights, fundraising, and education. As the Development Director at Free Press from October 2006 to January 2022, Carrie Cuthbert crafted the fundraising strategy and led a dedicated team during the organization's growth. In a recent role as Project Advisor at the Kahn Liberal Arts Institute, from October 2022 to July 2023, Carrie Cuthbert focused on integrating human rights education within liberal arts. Previous positions include Associate Director of the Parents Fund at Amherst College and Founding Co-Director of the Women's Rights Network at the Wellesley Centers for Women, where Carrie Cuthbert addressed violence against women as a human rights issue. Currently, Carrie Cuthbert serves as a Human Rights Leadership Specialist at Smith College and holds extensive educational qualifications, including a J.D. from Harvard Law School and a Bachelor's degree in Anthropology from Amherst College.
