Lars Nilsen

EVP Sales & Marketing at Smith Gardens

Lars Nilsen is the EVP Sales & Marketing at SMITH GARDENS, INC. Prior to joining SMITH GARDENS, INC, they were the Senior Vice-President of Sales at Designer Protein from July 2008 to August 1997. Lars was responsible for the 2011 product line expansion into RTD protein shakes and bars. Lars also launched The Biggest Loser protein line and acquired national listings in 16,000 stores which resulted in incremental sales of over $6 million.

From January 2006 to July 2008, Lars was the Executive VP of Sales at Jones Soda Co. where they were responsible for all company sales efforts including DSD and warehouse sales. During their time at Jones Soda Co., they created and executed a strategic plan for the national launch of Jones Soda 12-pack cans which resulted in acquiring shelf space in 14,500 stores and 50% ACV by October 2007. Lars also achieved national listings with Wal-Mart, Safeway, Kroger, Albertson’s, Supervalu, Sam’s Club and Kmart.

From February 1993 to December 2000, Lars was the VP Sales/Managing Director at The Coca-Cola Company.

Lars Nilsen has a MBA in Marketing from the University of Washington - Michael G. Foster School of Business and a BSc in Business Adm. from the University of Utah.
