James Zhang is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Computer Science at the University of Maryland, expected to graduate in December 2025. James holds positions as Club President, Club Vice President, and Quantitative Analyst at Smith Investment Fund, focusing on portfolio optimization and high-frequency trading since September 2022. In addition, James serves as a Researcher under Professor Serhiy Kozak, exploring kernel methods and neural tangent kernels (NTK) since November 2023, and as a Teaching Assistant for BUFN403 under Professor Louiqa Raschid. James has also completed internships at Capital One and Northrop Grumman, where responsibilities included software engineering and atmospheric attenuation modeling. Additionally, James participated in the Jane Street SEE Program, gaining experience in market making and Bayesian statistics. James graduated from Sharon High School in June 2022.
