Stephen Roan, MBA, currently serves as Vice President of Orthopaedic Hips in R&D at Smith+Nephew, overseeing a multi-platform Porous Knee Program from development through commercialization. With experience at Smith & Nephew since 2007, Stephen has held various leadership roles including Senior Director of Portfolio Data & Standards Compliance, where a new organization for Unique Device Identification and product data synchronization was created. Earlier positions at Smith & Nephew included Director of Program Management for UDI and Senior Program Manager for Revision Hips Systems. Prior to Smith & Nephew, Stephen worked at Toyota as Assistant Manager for New Product Production Engineering and at ArvinMeritor as a Product Engineer for Light Vehicle Systems. Stephen holds an MBA from The University of Memphis and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Tennessee Technological University.
