Cara Shumate

Cara Shumate has extensive work experience in graphic design and branding. Cara started their career in 2003 as an independent designer specializing in visual identity branding, marketing, and social creative strategy. Cara has worked on various design projects such as catalog design, web design, and textile design. From 2011 to 2012, they worked as a Graphic Designer for Sun Valley Mag, and from 2012 to 2013, they worked as a Graphic Designer for Scott Sports SA. In 2013, they joined Smith Optics as an Art Director, Art Manager, and Sr. Graphic Designer. In 2016, they became a Business Owner of Flat Blak Gallery, focusing on urban contemporary art and design.

Cara Shumate completed their Bachelor of Arts in Visual Arts at the California College of the Arts from 1999 to 2002, majoring in Graphic Design. Prior to that, they also pursued the same degree in Graphic Design at the University of San Francisco from 1998 to 2002.
