Andreas Altemueller

Vice President, St. Louis Operations at SmithBucklin

Andreas Altemueller has a diverse and extensive work experience in various companies and roles. Andreas began their career as a Postdoctoral Researcher at UC Davis Medical Center in 1992. Andreas then served as a Research Associate in the Food Science Department at UC Davis from 1992 to 1995. Following this, they worked at Nestlé Purina North America as a Project Lead/Manager for Product Development Meat Science from 1996 to 1998. Andreas then joined Dupont, Protein Technologies, where they worked as a Sr. Research Scientist in Biotechnology, R&D from 1998 to 2002.

 

Altemueller subsequently worked at Solae, LLC, where they held multiple roles including Sr. Group Lead for Process Technology, R&D from 2003 to 2010, Portfolio Lead for New Business Development from 2005 to 2008, and Six Sigma Black Belt for Ingredient Product Development, R&D from 2003 to 2005. From 2010 to 2013, they served as the Associate Director for Analytical Sciences & Product Development at DuPont Nutrition & Health, where they also led workstreams in the Danisco/Dupont/Solae integration. Andreas then became the Director of Product Development & Discovery at DuPont Nutrition & Health from 2014 to 2016.

 

In 2016, Altemueller took on the role of Strategic Director of Operations at the United Soybean Board, overseeing the development of Target Area Programs and providing strategy guidance. Andreas also worked as a Senior Consultant and Entrepreneur at PryCor Technologies, LLC during the same time, organizing and providing outreach programs in collaboration with local industry and educational institutions.

 

Most recently, Altemueller joined SmithBucklin in 2019 as the Vice President of St. Louis Operations, where they provide oversight and guidance to the company's operations in St. Louis.

Andreas Altemueller holds a Doctor of Science (Ph.D.) degree in Biochemistry from Universität des Saarlandes, a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Microbiology and Biotechnology from RWTH Aachen University, and a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Biology/Biological Sciences, General, also from RWTH Aachen University. Andreas has also obtained a Six Sigma Black Belt certification in Product Development and Manufacturing Technology from the Six Sigma Academy, Dupont, Wilmington, DE. Additionally, Andreas has completed the CET SQ1 Ignite class, but no specific degree or field of study is mentioned for this certification.
