Helen Bronston, AIA, is an accomplished architect and educator with extensive experience in architectural design and theory. Currently serving as an Instructor in Architectural Theory at Academy of Art University since February 2024, Bronston has held notable positions such as Architecture Discipline Lead, Associate, and Architect IV at SmithGroup since May 2014. A Senior Project Designer at HMC Architects in San Francisco from 2006 to 2014, Bronston was the lead designer for prominent projects including the UC Davis Genomics and Biomedical Sciences Facility. With early experience as an Architectural Designer at Kallmann McKinnell and Wood and Ellenzweig, along with advanced education culminating in a Ph.D. candidacy in the History of Architecture at the University of California, Berkeley, Bronston combines a rich educational background from institutions such as Harvard University and Yale University with practical expertise in the field.
