Katrina Kelly-Pitou, PhD, serves as the Director of Climate Change Adaptation and Economics at SmithGroup, where Katrina focuses on the integration of economics and engineering within resilient design strategies. With extensive experience in energy systems and urban development, Katrina also holds an adjunct professorship at Carnegie Mellon University in the Energy, Science, Technology, and Policy program. Previous roles include Strategy Manager at the University of Pittsburgh’s Center for Energy, Project Manager at the World Energy Council, and International Market Fellow at The Climate Institute. Katrina's academic credentials include a PhD in Economics and Politics from the University of Nottingham, a Master's in International Relations with a focus on Global Economics and Environmental Politics from Hult International Business School, and a Bachelor's in Economics, Philosophy, and Modern Languages from Duquesne University, supplemented by post-doctoral studies in Electric Power Systems Engineering at the University of Pittsburgh.
