Adrian Smith

Congressman Adrian Smith is a Gering native and sixth generation Nebraskan who serves as the lead Republican of the House Ways and Means Committee’s Trade Subcommittee. Smith works across the committee’s jurisdiction to foster new opportunities for American producers and consumers, advocate for U.S. leadership on the world stage, and ensure American innovation is protected and prioritized. Prior to joining the House Ways and Means Committee, Smith was a member of the House Science, Space and Technology Committee where he worked on issues related to scientific research and development across many sectors of the economy. He has also served on the House Administration Committee, the House Budget Committee, the House Agriculture Committee, and the House Natural Resources Committee.
