Rina Alfonso, RGD, AIGA-DL, is the Founder and Creative Director of Studio Aorta since August 2017, focusing on representation and diversity in design leadership. Concurrently, Rina serves as an Instructor at The Arts and Health Institute Philippines and has held a Graphic Designer position at the Smithsonian Institution since November 2018. Rina has experience in exhibit design as a contractor for the Smithsonian Traveling Exhibitions Service and has taught as an Adjunct Associate Professor and Senior Lecturer at The University of the Arts. Rina's previous roles include Graphic and Exhibit Designer positions at The Design Minds, Inc., Dumbarton Oaks Research Library and Collection, CannonDesign, and Howard + Revis Design Services, collaborating on projects for notable clients such as the National Civil Rights Museum and the National Library of Medicine. Rina holds a Master of Arts in Exhibition Design and multiple professional certificates in Typeface Design, emphasizing a strong foundation in both design theory and practice.
