Marissa Tonkay

Marissa Tonkay is an experienced architecture professional currently serving as an Architecture Staff member at Smolen Emr Ilkovitch Architects, focusing on Maryland K-12 school construction projects and participating in all phases of development from schematic design to construction administration. Prior experience includes serving as a Teaching Assistant and Student Academic Advisor for the Architecture Program at the University of Maryland, where support was provided to undergraduate architecture students for course registration and academic planning. Earlier roles include an Architecture Intern position at Bates Architects PC, where involvement in construction documents and architectural drawing sets occurred, and a 3D Artist Intern position at Illustrate My Design LLC, which involved learning architectural rendering techniques. Marissa Tonkay holds both a Master of Architecture and a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the University of Maryland, as well as a High School Diploma from Linganore High School.
