Jon Nelson

Jon Nelson is a seasoned professional in nuclear safety and engineering with extensive experience in various prominent organizations. Currently serving as a Senior Nuclear Safety Analyst at Strategic Management Solutions, LLC since July 2021, Jon has held several key positions, including Senior Safety Engineer at Sigma Science Inc. and Safety Basis Course Manager and Instructor at the U.S. Department of Energy. Previous roles also include Senior Safety Basis Analyst at Los Alamos National Laboratory and Consequence Assessor at Sandia National Laboratories. Jon's career began as a Junior Engineer at Sandia, where responsibilities included supporting international efforts post-Operation Desert Storm. Jon holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from New Mexico State University.
