Michael Champ

Michael Champ serves as Manager of Finance and Analytics at SMUD since January 2013, where responsibilities include designing a comprehensive billing system for 600,000 customers and overseeing enterprise performance for a $200 million project portfolio. Prior roles include Manager of Strategic Planning and Performance Management at CalPERS, where Michael facilitated the development of key business plans, and Business Planning Analyst, focusing on enterprise risk management. Michael has military experience as a Corporal in the United States Marine Corps, managing logistics in various operational environments. Additionally, experience as a Hurricane Relief Worker with CCC International involved coordinating volunteer efforts for post-disaster recovery. Education includes an MBA in Finance from the University of California, Davis and a B.A. in Linguistics from the same institution.
