Nancy Bui-Thompson

Nancy Bui-Thompson is the Board Vice President at SMUD. Nancy was previously the Director of Transition and Integration - Strategy and Execution at Health Net from January 2018 to December 2020.

Health Net is a subsidiary of Centene. Centene is #42 on the Fortune 100 with over $74B in revenues, with 70,000 employees and covers over 23 million members.

As the Director of Transition and Integration - Strategy and Execution, Nancy was responsible for the Program Management of Health Net’s integration and migration to Centene’s Enterprise solutions: 13 core IT systems (Call Center, EDW, IVR, Case Management, Customer/Broker Portals, etc.).

Nancy developed an IT Engagement Model with CA Executive Leadership and Centene to manage the IT portfolio, established a governance structure that clarified decision-making, accountability and performance metrics, and advised CA Executive Leadership on revisions and implementation of Health Net’s 3-5-10 year Strategic Plan. Nancy also supported planning and prioritization of technology and transformation initiatives as part of the strategic and business planning process.

Nancy Bui-Thompson has a Bachelors of Science in Economics and Management Information Systems from California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo. Nancy is certified by the Greater Sacramento Economic Council as a Certified Champion, and by the Project Management Institute as a Project Management Professional. Nancy is also certified by the Medicaid Learning Institute as an MLC Certified Medicaid Professional (MCMP-II).
