Rachel Huang

Director, Customer & Grid Strategy at SMUD

Rachel Huang has a diverse work experience spanning across multiple roles and companies. Rachel joined the Sacramento Municipal Utility District in 2005 and held various positions such as New Business Services Specialist, Project Manager, Senior Project Manager, and Manager of Customer Retail Strategy. From 2015 to 2021, they served as the Director of Customer Retail Strategy, Distributed Energy Strategy, Energy Strategy, Research & Development, and currently they hold the role of Director of Customer & Grid Strategy. Prior to joining SMUD, they worked at Procter & Gamble as a Product Development Engineer and later as a Senior Product Development Engineer.

Rachel Huang received their B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Cornell University in 1996. Rachel later pursued a Master's degree in International Relations from Johns Hopkins University - School of Advanced International Studies, which they obtained in 2004.
