William Irwin, Sc.D., CHP, currently serves as the Radiological and Toxicological Sciences Program Chief at the Vermont Department of Health, overseeing a team that advises on health risks related to radiation and toxic chemicals while developing emergency response plans. Since 2007, William has also held the position of Crew Chief with the Vermont Hazardous Materials Response Team, leveraging expertise as a firefighter and radiation protection specialist. Additionally, William instructs alpine skiing to youth at Smugglers' Notch Resort and has previously provided radiological guidance at Harvard University and MIT. With a Doctor of Science in Work Environment Engineering and a Master of Science in Radiological Physics from the University of Massachusetts Lowell, William has significant experience in radiological health protection consulting for various industries.
