Gerard Epema

Gerard Epema is a seasoned professional in database management and backend engineering with extensive experience spanning over two decades. Currently, Gerard serves as a Senior Backend Engineer and Sr Database Engineer at SmugMug since September 2017, while also working as a MySQL DBA at Oath and Flickr since June 2017 and January 2013, respectively. Prior to these roles, Gerard owned Epy-Technology from August 2006 to December 2014, providing IT support and database management services. Previous positions include Senior Database Administrator/System Operator at Kodak EasyShare Gallery, Inc., and Database Administrator at Kodak, while also contributing as a consultant at Sybase Inc. and maintaining various large-scale databases at Aegon and KNVB.
