Cherlyn Gunnell

Cherlyn Gunnell, CPA, CGMA, serves as the Assistant Controller at SMX since February 2022, bringing extensive experience in financial management and leadership. Previously, Cherlyn held the role of Assistant Controller at Peraton from March 2019 to February 2022 and served as Controller at AFSC/Magellan Federal from March 2017 to March 2019. Additional roles include Manager of the GovCon Consulting Group at CohnReznick LLP, Controller at Modern Technology Solutions, Inc., and Director of Accounting at both Novetta Solutions and Focal Point, Inc. Cherlyn began the accounting career as a Staff Accountant at Argy, Wiltse & Robinson, P.C. Cherlyn earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and Business Administration from George Mason University.
