Paul Waldo

Paul Waldo has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Paul is currently working as a Lead Cloud Engineer at SMX since 2019. Previously, they were a Senior Software Consultant at Practical Code, LLC from 2018 to 2019, where they supported the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) in migrating their application infrastructure to the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud. Prior to that, they held multiple roles at GEICO, including Master Software Engineer, Sr. Programmer Analyst, and Software Engineer, where they worked on various projects related to mobile and web-based policy-service applications. Before joining GEICO, Paul was the Owner of WaldoWare, Inc., where they provided software development and implementation solutions to clients in various industries. Paul also gained experience as a Software Engineer at Bluewater Consulting Group, ACS Solutions, ProcessNet, Iconixx Corp, and MCI, working on diverse projects for different clients.

Paul Waldo completed their education at Virginia Tech, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from 1987 to 1990. Prior to that, they attended Howard Community College from 1984 to 1987, where they received an Associate of Arts degree in Computer Science. In terms of additional certifications, Paul obtained the following: AWS Certified Developer - Associate from Amazon Web Services in June 2023, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator - Associate (SOA) from Amazon Web Services in September 2018, and AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner from Amazon Web Services in 2018. Paul also holds an edX Honor Code Certificate for Introduction to Functional Programming obtained from edX.
