Catherine Jones has a wide range of work experience in the field of forensic anthropology and archaeology. Catherine is currently working as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at SNA International, where they focus on forensic anthropology. Prior to this, they held the position of Postgraduate Research Associate at the same company.
Before joining SNA International, Catherine worked as a Graduate Student at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee from 2017 to 2022. During this time, they also served as a Research Assistant for the Milwaukee County Poor Farm Cemetery Project, where they designed and implemented an analytical procedure to separate individual human remains from commingled deposits. Catherine provided training and guidance in forensic archaeology and anthropology to a team of bioarchaeologists and maintained project databases.
From 2008 to 2022, Catherine worked at UWM Cultural Resource Management. Catherine held various roles, including Osteologist, Project Manager, Archaeology Crew Chief and Field Monitor, and Associate Lab Director and Osteologist. In these positions, they developed excavation strategies, conducted archaeological investigations, prepared technical reports, and provided expertise in identifying and analyzing human remains.
Catherine also gained experience as a Graduate Intern at The Field Museum in 2018, where they analyzed and stabilized a prehistoric skeletal collection, mentored undergraduate interns, and updated database and collections software.

Catherine Jones pursued their education in Anthropology, specializing in the field of study. Catherine obtained their Bachelor's Degree from Transylvania University between 2001 and 2005. Following this, they pursued a Master's Degree in Anthropology at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, completing it between 2007 and 2011. Continuing their academic journey, Catherine obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Anthropology from the same institution, completing it from 2017 to 2022.
Additionally, Catherine Jones obtained several certifications related to their field of expertise. In July 2014, they became a Qualified Skeletal Analyst through the Wisconsin Historical Society. Furthermore, they acquired the status of being an Archaeologist Qualified to Excavate Human Remains and an Archaeologist Qualified to Work Within the Boundaries of a Human Burial Site, all obtained in June 2014. The institution responsible for granting these certifications is also the Wisconsin Historical Society.
