Nicholas Giraud

CEO, Captrain Holding at SNCF

Nicholas Giraud is a graduate of emlyon business school and holds a Masters in International Studies. In 1998, he began his career at SNCF Fret, occupying three different posts within the sales division in his first three years. He subsequently moved to Antargaz where he served as logistics manager, heading up rail, road and sea procurement.

In 2005, he returned to SNCF as head of SNCF Fret Deutschland, an SNCF subsidiary based in Frankfurt with offices in Poland and Austria. In 2008, he was appointed Chief Sales Officer of the combined transport unit. He went on to manage the Ecorail subsidiary, overseeing its successful merger with Ermechem, another SNCF Group unit, to form Forwardis SA.

In January 2020, Mr Giraud was appointed international director of TFMM, managing and expanding the Captrain network across Europe and continuing to oversee Forwardis’ activities. In 2021, Mr Giraud was named CEO of Captrain Holding.
