Bogdan Drutu

Principal Engineer at Snowflake

Bogdan Drutu is a Principal Engineer at Snowflake since September 2023, previously serving as a Distinguished Software Engineer at Splunk from January 2020 to September 2023, where Bogdan co-founded the OpenTelemetry project. Before that, Bogdan held various roles at Google from January 2012 to January 2020, including Staff Software Engineer, where Bogdan co-designed the OpenCensus project and was involved in significant initiatives such as Dapper tracing instrumentation. Earlier experience includes software development at Adobe and academic roles as an Associated Teaching Assistant at UPB. Bogdan holds a BS in Computer Science from Politehnica University of Bucharest and a Bacalaureat from Colegiul National Tudor Vladimirescu.
