Robert Gernhardt is a seasoned technology professional with extensive experience in software engineering and team leadership. Currently serving as Manager and Technical Lead at Snowflake since July 2017, Robert spearheads the development of scalable file metadata systems for efficient querying of large data sets. Previously, Robert held roles at Microsoft, where achievements included shipping Power BI Report Server and leading development efforts for SQL Server Reporting Services 2016. Additional experience includes research and engineering roles focused on embedded systems and optimization at institutions such as TU Kaiserslautern and Michigan State University. Robert holds dual Master’s degrees in Electrical and Electronics Engineering as well as Electrical Engineering from RPTU Kaiserslautern-Landau.
