Maarten Olthof

Maarten Olthof has extensive experience in travel, development, and education, currently serving as the Directeur at Ghanta Pelgrimsreizen since 2003, where a notable achievement includes the organization of the first Solar Expedition in the Nepalese Himalaya in 2013. As Voorzitter of Stichting Vajra since 1997, Maarten has led various development projects in Nepal, including the construction of schools and a hospital, as well as the largest solar oven project in Bhutanese refugee camps. Maarten also contributes as an educator in traveler medicine at NSPOH and has held roles at SNP Natuurreizen BV, developing numerous trips across Nepal, India, Tibet, Bhutan, and Pakistan. As a writer, Maarten authored 'Lopen in het voetspoor van de Boeddha,' which was nominated for the best spiritual book in 2011. Maarten's educational background includes a Master's degree in Environmental Biology from Rijksuniversiteit Utrecht and Zen training in the lineage of the White Plum Asanga.
