Susanne Hounsell

Susanne Hounsell currently serves as the Head of Portfolio for EEP Africa and has previously held positions as Sector Lead for Energy in both Kenya & Burundi and Zambia at SNV since October 2019. Prior to this, Susanne founded and directed East Africa Energy Analytics from June 2016 to September 2019. A career in energy consulting began with roles at IHS Markit, where Susanne was a Senior Associate and then Associate Director from February 2011 to March 2018. Additional contributions include writing for African Energy Publication as a Contributor and serving as a Commentator for Capital.de. A background in consultancy was established with IPA Energy + Water Economics and earlier roles at the World Alliance for Decentralized Energy and Euroheat&Power. Susanne holds an MSc in Ecological Economics from The University of Edinburgh and a BA in European Studies from Maastricht University.
