Jamie Smith has a diverse work experience spanning over several years.
Jamie started their career as a Computer Consultant at Risetime in 1993, where they were responsible for implementing and testing feature enhancements for inventory systems. They also worked on maintaining and fixing the existing product suite of CAD-like design software.
In 1994, they joined Unidev as a Systems Consultant, specializing in on-site specification, development, testing, and deployment of custom projects across multiple platforms. They also gained experience in implementing web systems utilizing various eCommerce and content-providing technologies.
In 2001, Jamie joined Kabira Technologies as a Consulting Architect. They had various roles of increasing responsibility over the years and were primarily involved in consulting with customers, designing, implementing, and deploying custom solutions using Kabira's suite of products and frameworks. They also had secondary responsibilities such as team management, preparation of customer deliverables, and mentoring.
Jamie then moved on to TIBCO Software in 2010, where they initially served as a Senior Solutions Consultant, helping customers leverage the platform and implement solutions. They later took on the role of Presales Team Lead in the Strategic Solutions Group, serving as a product expert for TIBCO's offerings and assisting in the overall sales cycle.
In 2015, Jamie joined Apcera as a Senior Solutions Consultant, providing technical sales and solutions consulting for the Apcera trusted cloud platform. They helped companies modernize, containerize, and secure their workloads while ensuring full confidence and trust in the infrastructure. They also played a key role in Ericsson engagements.
Jamie then moved on to Elastic in 2017, where they held multiple positions including Senior Product Marketing Manager, Principal Product Marketing Manager - Observability, and Product Marketing Director - Observability. They contributed to the marketing strategy and messaging for Elastic's Observability products.
Most recently, Jamie joined Snyk in 2022 as a Product Marketing Director, where they are responsible for driving the marketing efforts for Snyk's products.
Throughout their career, Jamie has gained expertise in various areas such as product marketing, technical sales, solutions consulting, and team management.
Jamie Smith obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Science from The Ohio State University from 1986 to 1991. Later, from 1992 to 1993, Jamie pursued a Master's degree (MS) in Computer Science from Wright State University. In addition to their formal education, Jamie also earned a MIT Professional Education Digital Programs Honor Code Certificate for Internet of Things: Roadmap to a Connected World in June 2016 from edX. Furthermore, they have a certification as a Certified StreamBase Developer from TIBCO StreamBase, but the exact date of obtaining this certification is not provided.
