Ross Avard is an experienced professional in the mining and processing industry, currently serving as Upstream Operations Manager at SO4 since March 2025. Prior experience includes General Manager of Mining Australia at GMA Garnet Group from March 2019 to March 2025, where oversight included six direct reports and 138 indirect reports, as well as responsibilities as Site Senior Executive. Ross also acted as Production Manager, managing operations with a capacity of 500ktpa at GMA. Previous roles include Production Superintendent at Northern Star Resources Limited, Metallurgist at Roy Hill, and multiple positions at GCO, Newmont Australia, Tronox, and Nagrom. Ross holds an MBA from Curtin University and a Master of Occupational Health and Safety, along with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mineral Science and Mathematics and Statistics from Murdoch University.

SO4 is engaged in the production of Sulphate of Potash (SOP) products from the Lake Way asset, which is located in the Goldfields region of Western Australia, 15 kilometers south of Wiluna. Our strategic focus on SOP is motivated by excellent market fundamentals, due to the growth in demand for fertilizers, including SOP, which is driven by the world’s need to feed growing populations from shrinking arable land resulting in the need to improve agricultural yields.
