Emily Michels is an accomplished professional in public policy and government relations, currently serving as the Manager of Public Policy & Government Relations at SoCal Grantmakers since August 2021. In this role, Emily provides strategic leadership and direction on public policy priorities, fosters key external relationships, and collaborates across teams. Previously held positions include Ethics/Communications Officer at Electronic Environments New York, where advisory and communication support were provided, and participation in the Spring 2023 Women in Leadership program at Coro Southern California. Emily has also contributed to research as a Research Assistant at Emory University, focusing on ethics in artificial intelligence and healthcare, and has experience as a Health Policy Analyst with the Colorado Consumer Health Initiative. Emily holds a Master of Arts in Bioethics from Emory University and a Bachelor of Arts in Bioethics and Policymaking from Colorado College.
