Asma Faizi is a legal professional with extensive experience in both legal counsel and leadership roles. Currently serving as Legal Counsel at SOCAN since November 2013, Asma provides legal and business advice, specializing in drafting and negotiating various contracts, including licensing and sponsorship agreements. In addition, Asma has been the President of the Afghan Women's Organization since January 2008, collaborating with the Executive Director and board members to advance the organization's mission. Previous experience includes working as an Associate at Torys LLP, focusing on intellectual property litigation from 2006 to 2013, and a Law Student at the Department of Justice with an emphasis on immigration and citizenship litigation in 2003. Asma's academic credentials include a Juris Doctor from the University of Toronto, along with a Masters of Science in Pharmacology and a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Human Biology, both from the same institution.
