Carolyn Long, MCD, SLP-CCC

Carolyn Long, MCD, SLP-CCC has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Carolyn is currently the Co-founder and Chief Strategy Officer at Social Optics, where they help teens enhance their social emotional well-being through teaching communication strategies. Prior to this, they founded and served as the President of Common Goals Consulting, LLC from 2018 to 2022.

Carolyn has also worked as a Speech Language Pathologist at various institutions. Carolyn served as a Speech Language Pathologist at Bozeman High School from 2014 to 2021, at the Park County Special Education Cooperative from 2009 to 2014, and at Livingston HealthCare from 2004 to 2009.

Before that, Carolyn worked at Evergreen Livingston Health and Rehabilitation Center as a Speech Language Pathologist and Rehabilitation Department Manager from 2002 to 2004. Carolyn also worked as a Speech Language Pathologist at Livingston Special Education Cooperative from 2001 to 2002, and at Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters from 2000 to 2001.

In the earlier stages of their career, Carolyn gained experience as a Graduate Assistant at Auburn University from 1999 to 2000. Carolyn also worked as a Speech Language Intern at Auburn University during the same period.

With their extensive background in speech language pathology and their passion for helping others, Carolyn has developed a strong skill set in communication strategies and is dedicated to improving social emotional well-being among teens.

Carolyn Long, MCD, SLP-CCC earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in English Language and Literature, General from the University of Mary Washington in 1997. Carolyn then pursued a Master's degree in Communication Disorders, Speech-Language Pathology at Auburn University and completed it in 2000. Prior to their time at Auburn University, Carolyn attended the University of Alabama in Huntsville, but it is unknown what degree or field of study they pursued there. In 1996, Carolyn briefly attended University College Cork, although the details of their degree or field of study at that institution are unknown.
