Julia Garstecki Derkovitz

Julia Garstecki Derkovitz is an experienced educator and author with a focus on nonfiction writing for the education market, specializing in special education and resources for parents of children with disabilities. Currently, Julia serves as a Teacher at Bryant & Stratton College and a Writing Coach at Daemen College, while also participating as an Author/Researcher for Black Rabbit Books and a Book Author for Capstone Publishers. Julia’s extensive background includes roles as a Writer for Social Studies School Service, a Freelance Author, and previously as an Adjunct Instructor and Professor at several institutions. Julia holds certifications in Exceptional Education from the University at Buffalo and a Graduate Degree in Reading Instruction from the State University of New York at Fredonia. Julia’s contributions also extend to humor writing, with a regular column in the Jamestown Gazette.
