Louay Akkad is an accomplished technology leader currently serving as Chief Technology Officer at Social Tip since March 2025, focusing on financial empowerment for everyday individuals. Previously, Louay held the position of Head of Software Engineering (Director, Marketplace) at Fresha from August 2022 to March 2025, leading multiple B2C engineering teams to enhance the wellness and beauty sector. Louay’s experience also includes a significant tenure at McKinsey & Company as a Staff Software Engineer from January 2017 to July 2022, specializing in technology strategy and team structuring for corporate-backed ventures. Earlier career milestones include a Senior Software Engineer role at Urban Massage, where Louay was instrumental as the first engineering hire following a seed funding round. Louay earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computing from the University of Portsmouth in 2015.
