Previously, Louay held the position of Head of Software Engineering (Director, Marketplace) at Fresha from August 2022 to March 2025, leading multiple B2C engineering teams to enhance the wellness and beauty sector. Louay’s experience also includes a significant tenure at McKinsey & Company as a Staff Software Engineer from January 2017 to July 2022, specializing in technology strategy and team structuring for corporate-backed ventures. Earlier career milestones include a Senior Software Engineer role at Urban Massage, where Louay was instrumental as the first engineering hire following a seed funding round. Louay earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computing from the University of Portsmouth in 2015.

In a post social-media world, it’s not slick advertising, polished content or paid endorsements that decide the winners and the losers. It’s the customers. The community. Way above any other marketing channel, user-generated-content wins in terms of trust, engagement and reach. Why then, is there no way for brands to easily harness this social currency? And why are the customers that build brands through their advocacy not rewarded for doing so? Something needs to change.
