Gillian Halden

Gillian Halden is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in social work and service improvement. Currently serving as Assistant Director at the London Borough of Islington since April 2024 and as a Registrant Adjudicator for Social Work England since May 2022, Gillian also holds the position of Strategic Improvement Lead at Surrey County Council. Additional roles include Service Improvement Project Director at Hull County Council and Head Of Service Practice Improvement at Darlington Borough Council. Past positions include leadership roles focused on quality and improvement in various London Boroughs, including Bromley and Waltham Forest. Gillian holds a degree in Social Work (CQSW) from Middlesex Polytechnic and attended Hunmanby Hall School for Girls.
