Pouneh Khalilzadeh, Ph.D., Mcb.A., CCM has a diverse work experience spanning various roles in the field of microbiology. Pouneh is currently serving as the Laboratory Director at SAQ starting from August 2022. Prior to this, they worked as a Laboratory Manager at Lallemand from May 2021 to August 2022. Pouneh also held the position of Covid-19 Team Lead (Planning, Programming, Research and Investigations Officer) at CIUSSS Center-South, Montreal from October 2020 to August 2022. Pouneh has also worked as a Production Supervisor at GSK from November 2020 to May 2021. Earlier in their career, they gained experience as a QC Laboratory Lead at Sterigen from June 2019 to September 2020, worked as a Microbiology Consultant in a self-employed capacity from October 2017 to June 2019, and served as a Senior Microbiologist / Microbiology Coordinator at Nutreco from July 2012 to October 2017. Pouneh began their career as a Microbiologist at www.garmen.ca from March 2010 to March 2011.
Pouneh Khalilzadeh, Ph.D., McB.A., CCM, has a diverse education history. In 2009, they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Enzyme and Microbial Engineering from Université Paul Sabatier Toulouse III. In 2010, they conducted research on cancer drugs at McGill University. In 2012, Pouneh focused on the location of PqsH in Pseudomonas aeruginosa at INRS-Institut Armand-Frappier. From 2013 to 2015, they pursued a degree in Health Safety Environment at a school in Quebec, Canada. In 2014, Pouneh also completed supervisory training in Quebec. In 2015, they obtained certifications in time management and delegation, communication, manager role, and managing difficult employees. Pouneh furthered their education in 2018 by completing various courses at GC Biotherapeutics Inc. (GCBT) in Saint-Laurent, Quebec, Canada, covering topics such as Good Documentation Practices (GDP), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), gowning, aseptic filling and isolator techniques, and data integrality and regulatory requirements for the pharmaceutical laboratory.
In addition to their academic achievements, Pouneh has obtained several certifications. In 2014, they became a member of the Quebec Order of Chemists and the Canadian Association of Microbiologists. In 2013, they attained the designation of Registered Microbiologist from the Canadian College of Microbiologists. Recently, in 2022, Pouneh gained certifications in Food defense awareness from the Food Safety Preventive Controls Alliance (FSPCA) and yellow belt in Lean application. Pouneh is also associated with the Association of Microbiologists of Quebec.
