Alan Cohen has a diverse work experience, beginning with a position as an Underwriter at MetLife in 1971. Alan then moved to The Equitable Life Assurance Society in 1981, followed by CIGNA Healthcare in 1991, where they held two Underwriter roles. In 2013, they began work at Hartford Yard Goats Baseball as a Datacaster, and in 2014 they began a similar role at Major League Baseball. Since 2011, they have been self-employed as a Baseball Researcher, and in 2020 they became the Chief Factchecker for the Society for American Baseball Research (SABR) BioProject. Their research has focused on players who hit home runs in the same ballparks in the minor leagues and major leagues.
Alan Cohen attended Franklin & Marshall College from 1964 to 1968, where they earned both a Bachelor's degree and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Theirtory.
