Carol Ward

Co-Chair, Certified Corporate Governance Professional Commission at Society for Corporate Governance

Carol Ward has a diverse and extensive work experience in corporate governance. Carol is currently a Member of the Board of Advisors at Foresight® BoardOps since 2023. Prior to this, they served as the Vice Chair at the John L. Weinberg Center for Corporate Governance starting in 2022. Additionally, they held the position of Co-Chair, Certified Corporate Governance Professional Commission at the Society for Corporate Governance since 2019. From 2006 to 2018, they worked as the VP & Corporate Secretary at Mondelēz International (formerly Kraft Foods), where they provided guidance on corporate governance, shareholder engagement, securities law, and executive compensation. Before that, they served as the Corporate Secretary and Compliance Officer at CIGNA Corporation from 1983 to 2006, advising on corporate governance and leading the global compliance program.

Carol Ward attended Yale University from 1974 to 1978, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in History. Following their undergraduate studies, they enrolled at Emory University School of Law from 1980 to 1983 and obtained a Juris Doctor (JD) degree, specializing in Law.
