Dr Kumud Rai (Col)

President India Chapter at Society for Vascular Surgery

Dr (Col) Kumud Rai has a diverse work experience spanning over several decades. Dr (Col) Kumud served as the Chairman & Managing Trustee of ECHO India, a non-profit organization focused on bringing equity in healthcare and education through capacity building. Prior to that, they were the Director of Vascular Surgery at Max Healthcare. Dr. Rai also held various leadership roles, including President of the India Chapter at the Society for Vascular Surgery and President of the Vascular Society of India. Additionally, they served as a Founder Counsellor at the World Federation of Vascular Societies. Before entering the healthcare sector, Dr. Rai had a distinguished career in the Indian Army, where they held the rank of Colonel.

Dr (Col) Kumud Rai began their education at St Paul's School Jaipur from 1963 to 1966. Dr (Col) Kumud then attended Kendriya Vidyalaya from 1966 to 1973. After completing their schooling, Dr Rai pursued a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree at Maharaja's College Jaipur from 1973 to 1974. Dr (Col) Kumud then enrolled at Armed Forces Medical College from 1974 to 1978, where they obtained a degree in Medicine and Vascular Surgery. Additionally, they also earned a Master of Surgery (MS) and became a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) during their time at the same college.
