Mel Huggins

Mel Huggins has a diverse work experience spanning over 15 years. Mel began their career as a PR Assistant at Tourism NSW in 2005 and later worked as a PR Assistant at Taronga Zoo and Surfers Paradise Management in 2006. From 2007 to 2009, Mel worked as a Senior Consultant at Professional Public Relations, where they managed PR campaigns and a team of consultants. Mel then joined the Australian Institute of Architects as a National Prizes & Awards Officer, where they managed awards programs, developed web content, and handled sponsorship management. In 2010, Mel became a Senior Account Manager at PPR Australia and New Zealand, working on major brands like Microsoft, McDonald's, Dell, and Emirates Airline. Mel then transitioned to the Defence Science and Technology Group as an EL1 Project Manager, leading corporate events such as conferences and seminars. From 2018 to 2020, Mel worked as a Conference Manager at Conference Logistics, where they successfully managed conferences and events, drove delegate registrations, and handled content creation and website management. Currently, Mel serves as the Operations and HR Director / Group Director East Coast at SOCIETY Marketing Communications, overseeing integrated campaigns, web development projects, and operational aspects of the business. Mel previously held the role of Client Services Director at SOCIETY, where they led a team and managed integrated campaigns for clients. Throughout their career, Mel has demonstrated strong leadership, project management, and client relationship skills.

Mel Huggins attended Charles Sturt University from 2003 to 2006, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree with a focus on Public Relations and Organisational Communication.
