Joe Wurzburger has a diverse work experience in the field of actuarial science and education. Joe started their career in 2001 as a Mathematics Teacher at Downers Grove South High School. In 2002, they joined Watson Wyatt Worldwide as an Actuarial Analyst and worked there until 2005. Joe then moved to Bankers Life and served as a Senior Managing Actuary from 2005 to 2014. In 2014, Joe joined the Society of Actuaries where they held various positions including Health Staff Fellow (2014-2019), Senior Director of Practice Support and Advancement (2019-2020), Senior Director of Product Development and Innovation (2020-2021), and currently serves as the Managing Director of Strategy & Innovation since January 2022.

Joe Wurzburger began their education journey in 1997 and completed it in 2001 at Valparaiso University, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree. Their field of study consisted of Mathematics, Computer Science, and Secondary Education. In 2018, Joe pursued further education at Kellogg Executive Education, during which they completed the Kellogg Executive Scholar Certificate program. Additionally, Joe Wurzburger has obtained several certifications throughout their career. In June 2021, they became a Certified Association Executive (CAE) from ASAE: The Center of Association Leadership. In February 2021, they completed the "Leading Change in Nonprofits" certification from Kellogg Executive Education. Joe has also shown a desire to acquire various certifications from the Kellogg School Center for Nonprofit Management at Northwestern University, including "Financial Tools for Strengthening Your Organization," "Leading Innovation in Nonprofits," "Nonprofit Finance," and "Strategic Leadership." Additionally, they aim to obtain the "Leading People and Teams" certification from the University of Michigan and become a Member of the National Academy of Social Insurance.
