Tony O'Lenick

Tony O'Lenick has had an extensive and diverse work experience. Tony is currently the Vice President at the Society of Cosmetic Chemists HQ and the Vice President of the American Oil Chemist Society. In the past, they have held roles such as a Technology Specialist at SurfaTech Corporation and the President/Principal Consultant at Nascent Technologies Corporation, where they were involved in inventing patents and offering product development and intellectual property services in the personal care market. Tony also co-founded Siltech LLC, a specialty organo-functional silicone company, where they served as the President and played a key role in the company's growth in the personal care market segment. Additionally, they were a Member/Manager at CoMetagen LLC, a biotech start-up, and the President of Alkaril Chemicals Inc. Tony began their career as a Laboratory Manager Organic Synthesis at Mona Industries, where they developed and patented specialty surfactants. Tony has also held positions at Henkel Corporation, a major worldwide surfactant company.

Tony O'Lenick has a strong educational background in chemistry. Tony earned their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Chemistry from Rutgers University - Newark, where they studied from 1971 to 1975. Later, Tony pursued further education and obtained a Master of Science (MS) degree in Chemistry from the same institution, completing their studies from 1975 to 1979.

Society of Cosmetic Chemists HQ

Society of Cosmetic Chemists is a non-profit organization based in the United States. Dedicated to the advancement of cosmetic science, the Society strives to increase and disseminate scientific information through meetings and publications. By promoting research in cosmetic science and industry, and by setting high ethical, professional and educational standards, we reach our goal of improving the qualifications of cosmetic scientists. Our mission is to further the interests and recognition of cosmetic scientists while maintaining the confidence of the public in the cosmetic and toiletries industry. The first Chapter of the Society was formed in 1948 and was known as the Chicago Chapter. The Society now has a total of 19 chapters across the country and Canada. Chapters serve as the lifeblood of the Society and are run by dedicated volunteers who give of their time and expertise. Most Chapters conduct monthly meetings and hold educational seminars for members in their area. A few chapters have supplier exhibits and social events. Almost all 19 chapters publish their own newsletters. Membership numbers in Chapters vary from 35 members in our smallest chapter to 1400 in our largest chapter. No matter how large or small, all Chapters work for the goals of the Society which is the advancement of cosmetic science.
