Greg North

Greg North began their work experience as a Fire Engineer at Prevecon Brand & Riskkonsult AB in 2002 and then moved on to work as a Fire Engineer at Buro Happold from 2003 to 2005. Greg then joined Exova Group plc as a Senior Fire Engineer from 2005 to 2008. After that, Greg worked as a Senior Fire Engineer at WSP - Asia Pacific from 2008 to 2009. Greg then joined Beca as a Senior Fire Engineer and later advanced to the role of Associate - Fire Engineer from 2014 to 2019. Greg then worked as a Senior Associate at Beca from 2019 to 2023, and currently holds the position of Technical Director - Fire Engineering at the same company starting from May 2023. Additionally, Greg has also been involved with SFPE, serving as an Executive Committee Member of the New Zealand Chapter from 2017 to 2021 and currently holds the position of Vice President of the New Zealand Chapter starting from November 2021.

Greg North earned a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Canterbury from 1995 to 1998. Greg then pursued a Master's Degree in Fire Engineering at the same university, completing it from 1998 to 1999. In 1999, Greg attended Lund University where they obtained a Licentiate of Energy Economics and Planning from 1999 to 2002. There is no specific information regarding their studies at the University of Otago, and it is unclear if they obtained any degrees from the University of Canterbury beyond their bachelor's.
