Hollyann Purvis has a diverse work experience in various roles and organizations. Hollyann started their professional career in 2022 as an Honors College Intern at VCU Honors College and later became a Student Mentor. Hollyann also worked as a Social Media Intern at Intellex Communications Corporation and as a Communications & Multimedia Intern at Virginia Press Association.
In 2022, Hollyann held the role of Vice President at Le Monde VCU, a student organization. Hollyann also gained valuable experience as a Copy Editor and later as a Managing Editor at The Commonwealth Times, a student newspaper.
In 2021, Hollyann worked as a Student at Virginia Commonwealth University while also serving as a Social Media Content & Strategy Intern.
Hollyann continued to expand their skills and experience in 2023 by working as a Communications Intern at FHI 360, a global development organization. Currently, they hold the position of Communications Specialist at VCU Stravitz-Sanyal Institute for Liver Disease and Metabolic Health. Additionally, they hold leadership roles in the Society of Professional Journalists as the VCU President and the VCU Secretary.
Hollyann Purvis completed their advanced studies at Lee Davis High School from 2016 to 2020. Hollyann then pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism at Virginia Tech from 2020 to 2021. Currently, they are enrolled at Virginia Commonwealth University and is expected to graduate in 2024 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Digital Journalism.
